Readings from USCCB site
Thank you, Gracias, Mahalo, Maraming Salamat, Grazie, Arigato, Si Yu Maase. What ever language you say it in, it means the same. This Sunday's readings reminds us to say "thank you" to God, all the time. In good, average, and bad times. When we pray, we often ask for help. Hardly do we ever say just thank you. Thank you for all the blessing that God has given so far and if we really think about, He has given so much in our lives. It is hard to remember all the blessing, but it gets easier when we thank God every day and create of culture of thankfulness in our lives. Thank Him for another day, thank Him for a wonderful breakfast your mother made for you, thank Him for a friendly hello you got from a friend, thank Him for the beautiful day He has given us, or thank Him for giving you the strength to get through a tough day. Point is: Just thank Him!!

Reflection of the Sunday Readings, October 3, 2010 - 27th Sunday of Ordinary Time
How many times do we want to give up when things are hard? Too many times. Being a Christian is definitely not easy these days. But God has never failed us. We have to recognize that in our lives. "God will not give you anything that you cannot handle, He know that you are strong enough to get through it" The second reading, St. Paul reminds us that God did not give us a "spirit of cowardice". We won't have a day off from being a Christian and there are days that going be hard. Remember that as a Christian is it our duty to serve one another. Not to gain praise or reward from someone. And we don't serve because we promised God we would do so. We serve because of the promise that God gave to us. It's not what you are doing, it is who you are doing it for.
